Websites are custom built and unique using XHTML and CSS. They are user-friendly, cross-platform compatible and search engine friendly. I also design e-newsletters, banners and offer hosting for clients. Please also go to the process & case studies page for more web design examples.
Alexander
Shapoval Law Office
Project: website redesign
The Boston based lawyer specializing in criminal defense needed a redesign of his website. The new design is crisp and clean with strong imagery. Note the
google language selection tool that I implemented so that the website content can be translated if needed. A drop down menu ensures a streamlined
design and good functionality. The directions page uses google maps.
Bikram
Yoga Nanaimo
Project: website redesign
Bikram yoga is the ultimate hot yoga experience. As such, the studio wanted
a colour scheme that reflects this. We decided on a red and brown colour
scheme. The web site is spiced up by photos that I took during a class.
They give prospective students an idea of what to expect. I maintain this
website on an ongoing basis by adding banners about upcoming events, schedule
changes etc.
Metal Ice
Project: website design and online shopping system
The main goal of this website was to find a design solution that accomodates
a large number of products to be added easily. In collaboration with a friend
we set up a solution that works. I created a different banner design for
each page to create more visual appeal and also to show what the business
is all about. The simple and clean overall look makes the pendants stand
out.
Inner
and Outer Landscapes
Project: website development and set up of on-line payment system
IOL needed a website for a conference they were hosting. In collaboration
with a graphic designer we came up with a look. There is a lot of white
space in order for the information to really stand out. The on-line payment
system through PayPal I set up allowed clients to register and pay for the
conference right from the website.
Triad Holistic
Clinic
Project: website redesign
The Nanaimo based Thai massage and cranio sacral therapist needed a redesign
of her website. She wanted a look that truly reflects what her business
is all about: serving the client in a holistic way. She chose the rainbow
gradient effect because it conveys that she is dealing with the whole spectrum:
body, mind and spirit. The photos in the sidebar illustrate what to expect
from a Thai massage session with Stephanie. The white background was chosen
for best legibility because it lets the text stand out.
Donald Grayston
Project: website design
Donald wanted a personal website that allows him to stay in touch
with the many groups and organizations he is involved with. Note the different
banners on each page. They reflect what the page is about and help to visually
set the different sections of the website apart. I set up a schedule page
that I update periodically as well as changes and additions that I implement
throughout the year.
Jubilee
Associates
Project: website design
I designed this site as a tool for the four different parts of
the organizations to keep in touch with each other. It also contains a lot
of information for current or prospective students of the program. I am
currently working on a forum that will allow alumni to stay in touch. This
is also a project I work on during the year by making updates, changes etc.
I gave each of the four regional programs a unique colour which is also
reflected in the navigation bar.
Artzistuff
Project: website design
Tanya Streeter-Wilson is a local textile designer who needed a
personal website to showcase her work. I designed different banners based
on her patterns for each page. There is a gallery section I set up to show
the different areas she works in. For potential buyers I designed a page
listing all the shops where Tanya 's art can be found.

"Astrid Feschuk helped our organization to
create a beautiful website. As I am not very technologically savvy I was
relieved to be able to rely on Astrid's experience to guide us through the
process of building a website. She knows what she is doing and she is resourceful.
She also listened carefully to the details of the design and worked hard
to make sure we were more than satisfied with what she built.
When updates were needed she completed them promptly. Her easy going personality
made working with Astrid a pleasure. Many thanks!"

"Astrid Feschuk designed my logo and photography website. She brought
a lot of talent and collaborative skills to the table, which enabled the
project to run smoothly and created a very satisfying site. The
most enjoyable aspect of working with Astrid was that she listens very well, which
then allows her to assimilate ideas very quickly and instinctually
know which direction to take. I recommend her for your future
projects."
